Featured projects

Chen Quant Research Terminal
Python · PyQt6 · SQLite · concurrency
Two independent ~20,000-line desktop platforms for U.S. and China equities, each with its own data pipeline and database. In active use for live-market research.
Market Design for Safer Agentic AI
Research · oTree · Empirica · LLM agents
Testing whether staking on claims keeps markets honest when people and AI agents trade. I proposed an asynchronous market design, built an oTree prototype of it, and now develop the LLM agent integration.
Islandlife
Node.js · WebSocket · SQLite / Turso · Render
A multiplayer island-building game with its own server, written from scratch with no third-party libraries: real-time WebSockets, player accounts and 278 automated tests, in English and Chinese.
Free server: the first visit may take about a minute to wake it up.
Also: HeartGuardian AI, a hackathon health-monitoring prototype I led with a team of four · Chen Quant Center, a Next.js market-research site I built and deployed
About
I started in physics, ran a scientific-instrument company for seven years, then managed investments. I also led the design and construction of a 6,000 sq ft energy-efficient home with its own solar and storage system, from permits to final inspection. Building my own analysis tools led me to software. I bring an engineer’s rigor and a founder’s focus on what users actually need.
